Audly Audio Guestbook

Audly may be my side gig, but it's a great example of my creativity being put to work with no restrictions. An audio guestbook is a vintage phone that replaces a written guestbook at events like weddings, baby showers, and more. Rather than signatures, guests pickup the phone and leave voice messages for the hosts to listen to after the event. While I delgate the development of the phones themselves to an engineer, I'm in charge of just about everything else from delivery to marketing.

Having done wedding videography for a few years, I was always looking for more audio to add to my videos. Nothing tells a story like the sounds of the day, so I knew immediately when I saw this idea that I had to explore it. While the concept was not new, I had ideas to improve upon the existing products out there already. After my decision to pursue this, I was able to find a local engineer to make my ideas come to life. Now, Audly phones have been to well over 100 weddings in the Ottawa area with more and more every year. I am the sole operator of Audly and take care of branding, graphic design, web design and development, marketing, social media, trade show promotion, finance, operations, and much more.

Short-form content

Running this business was my introduction to producing short-form content. While other priorities have caused me to pause the production of short-form content for the time-being, it was a successful marketing tool when I used it and I'm greatful for the lessons it taught me. From this, I've learned about things like hooks, viewer retention, content SEO, and more. One of the videos I posted on Audly's TikTok account has over 2 million views.
